Breakdancing has the Version 2.1 (Beta) published. As this is a beta, you will need to install the update manually. You can find the version in your Breakdance account under Downloads.
All new features at a glance:
- Import third-party templates with one click: Templates from third-party providers can now be imported just like the official Breakdance templates with a single click.
- New image element: In my opinion, this is a long overdue step. The image element can now be set so that the ALT text (important for SEO) is taken from the media library. In addition, the HTML code is even cleaner than before.
- Extensions in the icon library: The icon search should now work much better. Previously you had to enter the specific name of the icon, but now it should also be possible to find it using related words. You can also export/import your own icon sets and delete individual icons from them.
- New condition "Page created with Breakdance": With the new condition, templates can now be applied to all post types not created with Breakdance (pages, posts, ...).
- Custom Breakpoints: You can now create your own individual breakpoints and select them in the element settings. This enables even more precise development to specific sizes.
- Global colors in the gradient picker (color gradient): Finally, the global colors can also be selected in the gradient picker. Previously, this was only possible using the color picker or by manually entering the RGB or HEX values.
- Important extension in the Menu Builder for mobile devices: The top menu item (1st level) can now also be a link on the cell phone, even if there are menu items below it.
- Static element at the end of the Post Loop Builder: A message that almost goes under, but is actually super smart.
- Further minor changes and optimizations in the elements Form, FAQ, Accordion, Advanced Slide, Woo Product Tabs, Countdown Timer and Advanced Accordion.
In my opinion, this is a really successful update with many fixes from the Breakdance Canny. If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check it out and vote for the optimizations that are important to you. As you can see, the Breakdance team attaches great importance to this.
I would just like to see a little more interaction and communication with us, the breakdance users. Unfortunately, these updates always come out of nowhere. It makes for positive surprises, but also for frustration because you don't know what Breakdance is currently working on. If you already have such an active Facebook group, you can also use it for interim statuses. Or at least use the intensively used Canny's statuses.
You can find Breakdance's official contribution to V2.1 here here.
Hi,
Thank you for the brief update.
I would be interested to know if you use Breakdance for all your projects or if you also use Divi or other theme builders?
Hi Sascha,
I have worked a lot with Divi and Elementor in the past, and I implement new projects in 90% with Breakdance or Bricks - depending on the requirements.
