Vor kurzem berichtete ich \u00fcber meine Workation in Thailand<\/a>. Nun ging es nur eine Woche sp\u00e4ter auf eine weitere f\u00fcr 4 Tage nach Mauritius. Eher ein ungew\u00f6hnliches Ziel f\u00fcr Work & Travel, aber das hat sich aus privaten Gr\u00fcnden ganz gut ergeben.<\/p>\n

Nochmal als Erinnerung: In einer Workation versucht man die beiden Welten „Work<\/strong>“ und „Vacation<\/strong>“ bestm\u00f6glich zu kombinieren. Es ist also ein Mix aus Arbeit und Urlaub<\/strong>. Fr\u00fcher war das undenkbar, heute mit den Weiten des Internets ein unaufhaltbarer Trend.<\/p>\n

Wie auch bei meiner ersten Workation war meine Absicht der Workation, eine gesunde Work-Life-Balance<\/strong>. Ich wollte meine Learnings aus der Thailand-Workation umzusetzen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Das bedeutete vor allem, im Kopf mehr abzuschalten, wenn ich nicht am Macbook sitze. Aber nat\u00fcrlich auch wieder die Erreichbarkeit f\u00fcr meine Kunden auf einem guten Niveau halten, wichtige Aufgaben ohne Einschr\u00e4nkungen erledigen. Das ist f\u00fcr mich Grundvoraussetzung<\/strong> und werde ich in Zukunft gar nicht mehr erw\u00e4hnen.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr mich ist das einfach das „A und O“. Sobald die Qualit\u00e4t meiner Arbeit und des Supports<\/strong> darunter leiden w\u00fcrde, w\u00e4re<\/strong> eine Workation keine Option<\/strong> mehr.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In meiner Freizeit<\/strong> hatte ich mir dieses Mal vorgenommen einen Schnorchelausflug<\/strong>\u00a0 zu machen und in meinem Buch<\/strong> „The Millionaire Fastlane“ vorankommen.<\/p>\n

Erreichte Work-Life-Balance mit Wifi-Problemen<\/h2>\n

Insgesamt h\u00e4tte ich mir weniger Arbeit vorgenommen, das hat man aber bekanntlich nicht immer komplett selbst in der Hand.<\/p>\n

Negativ waren die regelm\u00e4\u00dfigen Wifi-Probleme<\/strong>. Einmal fiel sogar der Strom f\u00fcr 2 Stunden aus, sodass ich meine Arbeit f\u00fcr den Tag komplett abbrach. Funktionierendes Internet ist in meinem Job nat\u00fcrlich eine Grundvoraussetzung. Ich hatte danach die Bewertungen gelesen und lerne daraus, diese in Zukunft mehr in meine Location-Auswahl einflie\u00dfen zu lassen. Dort merkten einige Hotelg\u00e4ste Internetprobleme an.<\/p>\n

Das Problem konnte ich jedoch l\u00f6sen, indem ich die meiste Zeit im Pool-Pavilion<\/strong> (leider kein Foto gemacht)\u00a0arbeitete. Dort war die Verbindung stabil, da dort der Router oder ein Repeater platziert war.<\/p>\n

Trotz der Wlan-Probleme, war auch Mauritius eine tolle Erfahrung und im Gro\u00dfen und Ganzen ein Erfolg. Ich konnte einen gesunden Mix aus Arbeit und Freizeit vereinen: Alle vorgenommenen Arbeiten erledigen, die Unterwasserwelt erkunden und den Kopf frei zu bekommen.<\/p>\n

Bevor ich auf meine erste wirkliche Workation eingehe, m\u00fcssen wir kl\u00e4ren, was eine Workation \u00fcberhaupt ist. <\/span><\/span><\/p>

Das wird relativ einfach klar, sobald man wei\u00df, dass sich das Wort \"Workation\" aus \"Work<\/strong>\" und \"Vacation<\/strong>\" zusammensetzt. Eine Workation ist daher eine Kombination aus Arbeit und Urlaub<\/strong>. Man arbeitet von \u00fcberall aus und nutzt die Vorteile des Reisens auch f\u00fcr private Gr\u00fcnde.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Das hei\u00dft konkret, dass ich arbeitstechnisch<\/strong> die <\/span>Kunden-Erreichbarkeit auf demselben Niveau halten wollte, anfallende Arbeiten nicht vernachl\u00e4ssige, die Zeitverschiebung von 3 Std. (zu Dubai) bzw. 6 Std. (zu Deutschland) zu meinem Gunsten nutze.<\/span><\/p>

Meine Vacation-Absichten waren: Im Kopf ein wenig abschalten, die thail\u00e4ndische Kultur & K\u00fcche genie\u00dfen, Chiang Mai erkunden und ein Elefanten-Sanctuary besuchen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Fazit meiner Workation in Thailand<\/h2>

Ich bin zwar viel auf Kurztrips unterwegs, bei denen ich im Flugzeug oder w\u00e4hrend des Aufenthalts arbeite, aber eine bewusste, mehrt\u00e4gige Workation<\/strong> ist definitiv etwas anderes, viel positiveres<\/strong>.<\/p>

Die Arbeit, die ich mir vorgenommen habe, habe ich geschafft. Zus\u00e4tzlich ist dieser Ausgleich<\/strong> und Tapetenwechsel f\u00fcr mich extrem wertvoll f\u00fcr neue Ideen & Innovationen in meinem Business<\/strong>.<\/p>

Aber nat\u00fcrlich muss die aktuelle Arbeit auch zu einer Workation passen<\/strong>. Zuhause am Schreibtisch mit gro\u00dfen Monitoren im gewohnten Umfeld zu arbeiten hat genauso seine Vorteile, als unterwegs am kleinen Monitor, mit Hintergrundkulisse, usw...<\/p>

Aber diese Flexibilit\u00e4t ist genau das, was ich an meiner Selbst\u00e4ndigkeit so sehr sch\u00e4tze!<\/strong><\/p>
